Chinese tourism sector witnesses robust post-coronavirus rebound


(MENAFN) In 2021 three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, China saw over 88 million local trips, around 87.2 percent of the number for 2019, stressing the robust rebound momentum in China’s tourism industry.

The tourism proceeds in the holiday hit 37.15 billion yuan (around USD5.75 billion), rebounding to 78.2 percent of that in 2019, noted the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The country’s tourism sector appears to have adjusted to the present condition of regular epidemic prevention and curb, with increasing market demand and more ground-breaking business models and expansion points.

The World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development hosted in Beijing said that lats year, world tourism sector was hit by the coronavirus pandemic, seeing a steep decline of 73 percent in the number of foreign tourists internationally.
