(MENAFN) Official figures demonstrated that the Chinese raw coal production surged 4.9 percent annually to 2.26 billion tonnes in the January-July period of 2021.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that the volume climbed 4.8 percent from the level in the very period of 2019, bringing the average Jan.-July increase of the last two years at 2.4 percent.
During the cited period, China imported almost 169.74 million tonnes of coal, contrasting 15 percent annually.
The NBS stated that last month, the country’s coal production hit 310 million tonnes, a decrease of 3.3 percent from a year earlier.
