244 migrants saved by Moroccan navy


(MENAFN) On Sunday, Jul. 4 official news agency MAP said in a report that the Moroccan navy saved in the past 48 hours 244 Spain-bound migrants.

A military report stated as cited by the agency that the migrants, comprising women and minors, are mainly from sub-Saharan Africa.

They were traveling in a number of inflatable boats in the Strait of Gibraltar, which divides the African continent from Europe.

It further said that a number of the migrants were in a bad health state and were given the first aid from the navy units, before they were sent back to various Moroccan ports.
