Jordan, GCC countries talk enhanced joint transport cooperation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, June 23 (Petra)--Secretary-General of Ministry of Transport, Wissam Tahtamoni, said Jordan is looking forward to opening cooperation horizons and increasing exchange of information with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on transport patterns and railway connection projects.
Speaking at the third meeting of the Joint Transport Cooperation Working Group between Jordan and GCC states, which was held on Wednesday, remotely, Tahtamoni stressed the importance of increasing cooperation and exchanging information between the Kingdom and GCC nations.
For his part, Undersecretary for Land Transportation and Post at Bahraini Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, Sami Abdulla Buhazza, who headed the GCC delegation, said the two-day meeting follows discussions of foreign ministers of GCC states and Jordan to follow up on transport issues, as this sector has "remarkable" importance in moving wheel of economic activities in the participating countries, and facilitating and enhancing movement of transport between Jordan and the GCC nations.
