Singapore: NODX augments 6 percent


(MENAFN)According to government agency Enterprise Singapore on Monday, May 17, Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) increased by six percent year on year this April, compared to the 11.9 percent increase in March.

The expansion was mostly because of exports of non-electronics, particularly specialized machinery, petrochemicals and primary chemicals, which augmented by 54.3 percent, 63.3 percent and 104.6 percent year on year correspondingly.

In all, Singapore's non-electronics NODX increased by 4.7 percent year on year in April, following the 9.2 percent expansion in March. Meanwhile, the electronics NODX increased by 10.9 percent year on year, compared to the 24.4 percent development in March.

On a month-on-month seasonally attuned basis, Singapore's NODX dropped by 8.8 percent in April to 15.4 billion Singapore dollars (about USD11.54 billion), following the 1.1 percent upsurge in the past month.
