Preventive measures for Eid prayer


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs represented by Mosques Management Department has announced COVID-19 preventive measures for Eid Al Fitr prayer congregation in mosques and prayer grounds.

As per the measures, the worshippers should keep wearing face masks during their presence in mosques or prayer grounds for Eid Al Fitr prayer, the Ministry has tweeted.

They should carry their own prayer mats and maintain social distancing of one and a half metres between two worshippers. The worshippers are required to show green status on Ehteraz app to the representatives of the Mosques Management Department at the entrances of mosques and prayer grounds.

Children under 12 years will be not be allowed to Eid Al Fitr prayer congregation. The worshippers should cooperate fully with members of Organising Committee of the Mosques Management Department and follow their instructions to ensure a smooth Eid Al Fitr prayer congregation for health and safety of all.

Handshake is not allowed in mosques and prayer grounds. The Ministry also asked worshippers to avoid crowding at the gates of mosques and prayer grounds and follow the social distancing measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. Women prayer areas in mosques and prayer grounds will be closed.

Eid Al Fitr prayer will be held at 5:05am. The Mosques Management Department also announced that the Eid Al Fitr prayer will be held in 1,028 mosques and prayer grounds.

The list of mosques and prayer grounds with numbers, names and areas is available on social networking site of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

A total of 12 mosques and prayer grounds have been marked in Aslata Al Jadeeda area. They are Ahmad Mohamad Al Ahamad Al Thani mosque, Mohamad Abdurrahman Al Zaman mosque, Al Aeeri mosuq, Aisha bin Ahmad mosque, Mosque No. 615, Imam Abu Hamid Al Ghazali mosque, Yusuf bin Abdurraham Al Mulla mosque, Norah Saif Ahmad Al Thani, Haroor Rasheed, Ismail Ibrahim Abdullah Al Haidus, Mosque of the sons of Mohamad Al Jaida and Mohamad bin Hasan Al Hajji Al Sulaiti.

Al Thumama area will have 10 mosques and prayer grounds including Mosque No. 634, Ismail Mohamad Shareef Al Emadi mosque, Al Khansa mosque, Mosque No. 1,300, Mosque No. 1,336, Abdurrahman Abdul Jalil Abdul Ghani Nasser mosque, Al Thumamam prayer ground, Salem Jabber Hasan Al Hasan mosque, Sara Mohamad mosque, Aisha Al Buainain.

Al Sadd will have 10 mosques and prayer grounds. A total of 19 mosques and prayer grounds will be in Al Kharitiyat area and 27 in Al Khor.

The Mosques Management Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs urged worshipers to comply COVID-19 prevent measures strictly.
