Afghanistan: Insider assault leaves 4 dead in Uruzgan


(MENAFN) On Sunday, May. 9 provincial governor Mohammad Omar Shirzad corroborated that four police officers have been killed in an insider assault that took place in Afghanistan's southern Uruzgan province on Saturday.

The official noted that a Taliban infiltrator disguised himself as police shot on a police checkpoint outside provincial capital Tirin Kot on Saturday evening, leaving four police officers immediately dead and ran away.

The official further said that the security forces supported by fighting planes aimed at the Taliban hiding place within hour and left the perpetrator dead along with four more rebels.

Taliban group has yet to make remarks.
