Health Minister Mai Al-Kaila said on Wednesday that the occupancy rate of respirators in hospitals has reached 48%, the highest percentage since the beginning of the Corona pandemic.

Al-Kaila added that the occupancy rate in hospital beds in the northern West Bank reached 67%, while in the cities of Ramallah, Jericho and the suburbs of Jerusalem 105%, and in the south of the West Bank 83%.

She indicated that she called for an urgent meeting this morning for the Emergency Committee at the Ministry of Health to discuss the significant increase in the number of "Coronavirus" cases.

She indicated that the committee will issue a position assessment of the worrying epidemiological situation in order to submit its recommendations to the Council of Ministers to take appropriate decisions to confront this rise in injuries.

Al-Kaila indicated that the recommendations that will be issued by the Emergency Committee may rise to full closure, stressing the need to fully adhere to wearing masks and staying away from gatherings.

"We are not only worried about the increase in the number of cases, but the high occupancy rate in hospitals."

The minister also instructed the Hospitals General Director to allocate a special section for "Corona" patients in all government hospitals, in addition to private hospitals.
