Syrian cousin demands Assad to implement constitutional articles

(MENAFN)On Monday, a Syrian business tycoon and billionaire cousin of the head of the Syrian regime called on Bashar al-Assad to stand by the Constitution and revisit his detained property.

In a letter to the Assad regime, Rami Makhlouf ordered the completion of legal provisions that defend private property; stated Assad has made nothing about the illicit arrest of Makhlouf’s properties.

In statements on social media since previous May, Makhlouf stated that "war profiteers," whom he explained as "disruptors," sold his companies and all his properties, including his house, under fake contracts.

On Jan. 6 regime security forces attacked one of his offices and captured all his documents Makhlouf stated in the letter. All the lawyers he set to challenge the arrests were warned by the “disruptors,” he further added.
