China: Zhejiang sees increase in cross-border e-commerce


(MENAFN) Zhejiang Province, an e-commerce heartland and foreign trade center in east China, registered a vigorous upsurge in cross-border e-commerce trade in the first 11 months of 2020.

According to the province's department of commerce, the export worth of retail sales through cross-border e-commerce in the province hit 91.16 billion yuan (about USD13.95 billion), increased 28.9 percent year on year.

In the meantime, the retail imports of cross-border e-commerce increased 33.4 percent to 33.9 billion yuan, driving up the province's import expansion by 1.2 percentage points.

Zhejiang founded seven new comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zones in 2020, Wenzhou, Shaoxing, Huzhou, Jiaxing, Quzhou, Taizhou and Lishui, supporting the local government to bring in more supporting policies.
