(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept. 27 (Petra)-Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Wissam Rabadi, said global circumstances require revamping Jordan's priorities.
Speaking at a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College, (RJNDC) entitled "Strategic Planning for Development and the Role of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation," he reviewed stages of Jordan's development planning process.
Jordan is pressing ahead to carry out its plans in accordnace with directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the "integrated" framework that governs economic and social policies based on providing opportunities for all, the ministry said in a press statement on Sunday.
The next stage, the process of revisiting priorities and new programs will include a review of the Jordan 2025 Document and the preparation of a development program for the next three years, according to Rabadi.
This re-prioritizing process will take into account the reforms matrix, launched withing the London Initiative, is related to the economy and business environment, he noted.
These reforms are now being reviewed in light of the new global data and the challenges facing Jordan triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, the minister told the attendees.
The minister said this future re-prioritizing package will also include other "existing" government programs, primarily the public investment management program, sectoral strategies, in addition to financial reform plans, and partnership with the private sector.
This economic bid, he noted, aims to assess the process's positive impact on the government decision-making process, preparing various economic and social programs and plans, revamping national priorities and steering financial resources according to these set priorities, the minister pointed out.
