Qatar participates in 35th session of NERC


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Rome: The State of Qatar participated in the meetings of the 35th session of the Regional Conference for the Near East and North Africa (NERC 35) hosted virtually by the Sultanate of Oman yesterday and today.

Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Italy and the State's Permanent Representative to the UN Agencies in Rome H E Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki headed the State of Qatar's delegation to the meetings.

The meetings will discuss food systems in order to achieve the sustainable development goals and address the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

They will also discuss several issues related to development policies in the countries of the region, especially the increasing dependence on food imports and the current curve of the malnutrition situation, in addition to laying out perceptions and prospects for a solution to the region's crises in the agricultural development and food security sector.
