The Indian health ministry announced on Sunday morning that 861 additional coronavirus patients have died due to coronavirus in the country, as 64,399 others have been diagnosed with the infections in the earlier 24 hours, which has pushed the death figure to 43,379 while the number of the total reported cases stood at 2,153,010.
The ministry released information saying that "As on 8:00 a.m. (local time) Sunday, 43,379 deaths related to novel coronavirus have been recorded in the country".
This marked the 10th day in a row when more than 50,000 new coronavirus cases were reported in one day, and the third day with more than 60,000 new cases.
Officials of the ministry said that a total of 1,480,884 patients have recovered from the disease so far and were discharged from hospitals.
