Thank you, Fazza: Sheikh Hamdan, the driving force behind Dubai's fight against Covid-19

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) With Dubai on track to flattening the curve, it owes much of its success to its leadership. And a key figure in the fight against Covid-19 in the emirate has been Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
From keeping up a steady stream of updates and encouraging residents through his social media accounts to initiating several expressions of gratitude for frontline workers, Sheikh Hamdan has been leading this fight from the front.

Act now, stay home: Sheikh Hamdan''s powerful message
Earlier this month, the Dubai Crown Prince posted an emotional letter thanking all the frontline workers for "rising to the challenge and putting the safety of others before their own". We''re proud and honoured that Khaleej Times journalists were among those who received the touching note.
He has led by example by adhering to all precautionary measures and reiterated the message in his inspiring speeches. He emphasised that social distancing was a "critical demand" from every one and not a "matter of choice".

No one is a foreigner in UAE: Sheikh Hamdan
Here is how he has been a driving force for Dubai''s fight against Covid-19:

> Expressing Gratitude:
In the most recent expression of gratitude, Sheikh Hamdan shared a video earlier this week of emergency vehicles and drones coming together in a spectacular show to form the words ''Shukran'' and ''Thank You'' - and to reiterate that the city is #StrongerTogether.

> Leading from the Front(line): On the first day of Eid Al Fitr, he visited several teams that were on the frontlines of the war on Covid-19 - including the Dubai Police, civil defence, ambulance services and state security - to personally greet them.
> Inspiring Innovation: He has been a keen champion of national innovation in the fight against Covid-19. In May, when the first UAE-made medical ventilator was manufactured, he was quick to praise the team behind the effort. Later that week, he announced a brand new award for ''Innovative Practices in Handling the Covid-19 Pandemic''. The new award category was allocated a total amount of $80,000 - and opened to two sections: SMEs and large enterprises, such as government, semi-government and private organisations.
> Motivating Volunteering: In March, Sheikh Hamdan launched the ''Your City Needs You'' volunteering campaign through the Day for Dubai app. Any resident could use the app to register and volunteer in his/her respective area of expertise.
