Gaming industry in China sees robust expansion in Q1

An industrial report said that the gaming sector in China is one of the few sectors that were not impacted by the coronavirus outbreak, the gaming industry in China saw a rise of USD10.34 billion in revenue in the starting quarter of the current year, going over 25 percent compared to a quarter earlier.

The Game Publishing Committee of China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association and international market research company International Data Corporation collaborated on a report saying that the expansion followed the coronavirus outbreak that forced people to stay indoors.

According to the report, the mobile game makret posted a strong expansion in the quarter, with the revenue increasing 46.25 percent compared to a year earlier to set at USD7.82 billion.

E-sports games as well saw a strong expansion as the scale of users rose to reach 482 million, the report said.
