Turkey's benchmark stock exchange increases by 0.94 percent


(MENAFN) Turkey's benchmark stock exchange Borsa Istanbul grew by 0.94 percent or
1,153.46 points to start the last day of the week on 123,963.69 points.


The BIST 100 index decreased by 0.17 percent to end the day at 122,540.22 points with about USD2 billion, on Thursday; the U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate reached 5.9340 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, stable from the last close.


The Euro/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.5560, next to 6.5790, while one British pound was traded for 7.8090 Turkish liras; it was 7.8040 at Thursday's close.


On Friday, the cost of a one barrel Brent oil was around USD62.36 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
