(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) A fire broke out at the Madampitiya garbage dump in Grandpass today.
The Colombo Fire Brigade and the Army brought the fire under control.
Similar fires had erupted in the garbage dump over the past few days.
Area residents said that the extreme heat had resulted in the fire spreading rapidly in the garbage dump.
