The Sixth Summit of G20 Parliaments kicks off in Tokyo with the participation of the Speaker of Saudi Shura Council


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, November 4, 2019, SPA -- Speaker of the Japanese House of Councillors, Akiko Santo kicked off here today the sixth summit of the speakers of parliaments of the G-20 member states, hosted by the National Diet, in cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
The Saudi delegation is headed by Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.
The inauguration ceremony began with a speech by the Speaker of the Japanese House of Councilors, during which she welcomed the speakers of parliaments and councils participating in the summit, stressing the importance of liberalizing investment and trade, and creating regulations and laws that contribute to overcoming these challenges and ensuring the exchange of different experiences.
During its three sessions, the Summit reviews topics including supporting free trade, opening investment, taking advantage of technological innovations to support the human-centered future, and solving global challenges facing the Sustainable Development Goals.
