Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE) said that the coastal bulk freight market in China has significantly grown in September.
The composite index for coastal bulk freight added 5.1 percent from previous month to set at 1,094.11 in September.
The index stood at an average of 1,031.61 as of the 9th of October since the start of 2019, dropping from an average of 1,149.05 in 2018.
The sub-index for grain had the strongest increase of 16.4 percent to stand at 984.96 in the past month, coal and metal ore followed.
