(MENAFN- The Peninsula) On the occasion of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Westin Doha Hotel and Spa, in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society, will support their 'Blossom campaign with different activities and events taking place in the hotel throughout the month of October.
The main aim of the initiative is to expand awareness about Breast Cancer among the associates of the hotel and the local community in Doha, additionally, to raise donation and support the treatment of patients fighting the malady. This year, an internal awareness session will be led by Qatar Cancer Society along with the social media influencer and cancer survivor Polly Byles, @followyoursunshine on October 14th. The goal is to provide accurate information about the disease, explain methods of prevention and importance of early detection and screening.
Also, Polly will share her personal experience with the battle of fighting against cancer and its positive effects throughout her whole journey. In addition, The Westin Doha has organized a healthy dessert making session with the hotels' pastry chefs on October 21st where ladies will learn how to make pink vegan desserts and smoothie bowls; the aim of this session is to promote healthy lifestyle habits and how diet can affect in preventing cancer and to highlight the importance of reducing sugar.
Polly Byles (@followyoursunshine) will also attend the event and will share what she has encountered during her battle against cancer, recovery and the positive change on her lifestyle overall.
