More than Chinese 6000 officials punished over violation crimes

A total of 6,876 Chinese officials received punishment in August over violating frugality rules.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Supervisory Commission said that the arrested officials were involved in 4,814 cases.

Of the punished officials, 1 was at the provincial level, 70 at the prefecture level and 655 at the county level.

Giving or accepting gifts was the most common offense, followed by giving unauthorized allowances or bonuses and the misuse of public vehicles.
