Qatar- LOC announces partners for ANOC World Beach Games

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 yesterday announced the official sponsors for the event which will be held from October 12 to 16 in Doha.

Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has been named the official partner of the Games while Katara Cultural Village and Aspire Zone are the Official Venue Partners.

The Official Sponsors for the event will be Baladna, Mowasalat and Bornan. The Official Suppliers include Xtreme, Elan, Ooredoo and Al Rawda while Qatar National Tourism Council has been announced as a major stakeholder of the event.

Commenting on the occasion, LOC Director-General and QOC Secretary-General Jassim Rashid Al Buenain said, 'It is our pleasure to partner with our various sponsors for this historical event. It's so exciting to see so many of Qatar's organisations come together to create a truly unique and world-class event in Qatar. ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 offers us the opportunity to showcase once again our passion for sports as a nation and our wonderful hospitality as a great host. I believe the event will not only promote the values of ANOC but also foster unity and cooperation among the participating countries. The QOC Secretary-General was among a host of top officials who were present at a press conference which took place at the Katara Cultural Village yesterday.

Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara and Mohammed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Aspire zone foundation CEO, were also present at the occasion.

The inaugural edition of the international beach multi-sport event is organised by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

More than 1,200 athletes from a total of 96 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), representing all the five continents, will be competing in 14 disciplines across 13 sports at the event.

The featuring sports include aquathlon, 3X3 basketball, climbing bouldering, beach handball, karate kata individual, kitefoil racing, skateboarding, beach soccer, open water 5km swimming, beach tennis, beach volleyball 4X4, waterski, wakeboard and beach wrestling.

The event is scheduled for five days with the opening rounds for certain events being held on October 11, the day before the opening ceremony which will take place on the next day. The ANOC General Assembly and ANOC Awards 2019 will be held on October 17 and 18, following the conclusion of the competition.
