Qatar- Fun and learning lead MoI's Eid events

The ‘Mega Eid Al Adha Cultural and Infotainment celebrations' organised by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on the first day of Eid Al Adha at Asian Town and Asian Accommodation City (Labor City) in Doha Industrial Area have turned out to be a different experience for the thousands of Asian community members. 

The celebrations, which started at 5 pm  till 10 pm, took a serious tone when the different departments of the Ministry used it as a tool for spreading awareness on various social causes. The Ministry raised awareness on road safety, fires safety, drugs prevention law, services of Human Rights Department to the Public, pedestrian safety and services rendered by the Community Policing Department, Search and Follow Up Department and Visa Support Services Department to the public.  

Speaking in the felicitation ceremony for the sponsors of the event, Capt. Salih Al Marri of Public Relations of the Ministry of Interior, extended Eid greetings, on behalf of Brig. Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of Public Relations Department, to the audience as well as for sponsors and community leaders and thanked them for their presence in the celebration and appreciated their support for the event.   

The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Interior, Lt. Hamad Ali Jahweel Al Marri, said that the Ministry is keen to organise these kinds of the programmes in various locations of Qatar with the aim of providing a safer environment in a closer location for the members of the expatriate communities residing in Qatar including the employees and workers of the companies to celebrate Eid Al Adha and to enhance and strengthen cooperation and communication between the Ministry of Interior and expatriates in Qatar by providing safety and security tips during these events.  

The Ministry of Interior has been organising cultural events and awareness programmes for the expatriate communities on various national occasions such as Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha and Qatar National Day for many years. This year's Eid Al Al Adha celebration was organised in collaboration with the Indian Cultural Center and is sponsored by Ibn Ajyan projects, Naaas Group, Safari Mall, Grand Mall, Trsnscind Group and Emco Qatar.

In addition to the community cultural shows and awareness programmes, the celebrations at Asian Town and Labor city comprised of many cultural and traditional shows and performances by the teams of Indian Cultural Center from different states of India and Indian orchestra team. 

The organisers also arranged a magic show and  conducted raffle coupon draw for the audience, where the prizes were sponsored by Safari group and Grand Mall.  The performance of orchestra team and musical shows were in multiple languages like Hindi, Urdu, Sinhalese, Nepali, Malayalam, Tamil and Bangladeshi and it enthralled thousands of audience in the venue from Indian, Bangladeshi, Sir Lankan, Nepalese and Pakistani communities.
