Oman- First frozen squid factory of Middle East opens in Sur Industrial Zone

The Middle East's first frozen squid factory was inaugurated under the patronage of H E Dr Hamad bin Said bin Sulaiman al Aufi, Minister of Agriculture and  Fisheries, in the Sur Industrial Zone on Tuesday. 

The factory, owned by Sheikh Juma bin Mohammed al Farsi, under the company name Sea Pride (Fakhr al Bahar in Arabic), has a capacity to process 1,250 tonnes of squid. The opening of the plant will contribute to the recruitment of a number of Omani youth.
