Qatar elected as member in the Executive Office of Arab Information Ministers Council


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNACairo: The State of Qatar was elected as a member in the Executive Office of the Arab Information Ministers Council for two years, at the conclusion of the 50th session of the Arab Information Ministers Council on Wednesday.

Iraq was elected as President of the Executive Office.

In press remarks at the conclusion of the meeting, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, Ambassador Badr Eddin Alali, said that the Council adopted several resolutions on the items listed on the agenda, adding that some of these items are durable and others are new, including resolutions related to the Palestinian issue and Jerusalem, sustainable development, countering terrorist threats, and the role that the media must play in support of Arab issues.

The Council also adopted the Charter of Media Honor and the inclusion of media education in the curriculum, he added.

The 50th session of the Arab Information Ministers Council kicked off in Cairo yesterday. The delegation of the State of Qatar was led by Qatar's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador, Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi.
