Togo, Benin and Ghana post wins

KUWAIT CITY, July 17: As the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is about to
conclude in Egypt, Africans in Kuwait are hosting their own 'AFCON' perhaps to
relive the experience at close proximity.

Last Thursday at Mahboula Sports Field (Block One), the First
Africa Football Tournament kicked off with the women's match between Liberia
and Cameroon during which the Cameroonians won by two goals to one.

In the men's matches, the Cameroon men was defeated by Togo
by four goals to two, whereas Sudan lost to Benin by four goals to two and
tournament favorites Ghana squashed Uganda by five goals to zero.

This weekend will witness four matches. On Thursday, another
tournament favorite Kenya will battle with Sierra Leone at 6:30 pm, while
Malawi will face Ivory Coast at 8:00 pm. On Friday, Nigeria will clash with
Egypt, followed by the match between Ethiopia and Somalia.

This tournament is considered a great achievement in terms of
bringing together the African communities in Kuwait to celebrate one of their
favorite sports and their culture as well.

The tournament is a build-up to the African Talent Kuwait
festival scheduled for Aug 12, featuring the culture and 'Drums of Africa'.
