Cathay Pacific makes another first class blunder in two weeks

(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Cathay Pacific makes the same mistake again in less than two weeks offering premium tickets at a fraction of their value.
On the airline's website Sunday (Jan 13) morning, Cathay offered first class flights from Lisbon to Hong Kong - via a connecting flight through London with a partner airline - for just US$1,512, the South China Morning Post reported.
Meanwhile, a similar journey in first class via Frankfurt would usually cost US$16,000.
"We are looking into the root cause of this incident both internally and externally with our vendors," a Cathay spokesperson cited whom attributed the error to an "input issue".
The Hong Kong-based carrier will again honour the cheap fares for a "very small number" of travellers like previously, the spokesperson added.
It took two days for Cathay to publicly acknowledge the error; however the airlines declined to say how many tickets were sold at the discounted price.
