Syria's Assad discuss bilateral ties with Omani foreign minister

(MENAFN) On Sunday, Syrian regime President Bashar al-Assad held discussions in Damascus with Oman's Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi, according to Oman's official news agency.

The discussions touched on the bilateral ties and ways to return regional security and stability to the region, the agency affirmed.

Omani and Syrian governments gave no more information.

Unlike most Arab countries that cut relations with Syria after the regime's fatal crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrations in 2011, Oman has kept its ties with Damascus.
