Robots snatch away manufacturing occupations

(MENAFN) A British think tank suggested that in eleven years, robots are expected to snatch as much as 20 million job occupations related to manufacturing.

Fast tracking use of robots around the globe already caused 1.7 million manufacturing jobs to be stripped away since 2000, the British think tank pointed out.

Europe, the think tank unveiled, witnessed the loss of about 400,000 jobs while 260,000 were lost in the United States and 550,000 in China.

Oxford Economics commented: "the rate of 'robotization' is increasing rapidly: Since 2010, the global stock of industrial robots has more than doubled."
