Niger hails Kuwait's stance on conflicts in Africa


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 26 (KUNA) -- Niger's Minister of State and Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Bazoum hailed Kuwait's efforts to resolve conflicts in the African continent and achieve international peace.
Bazoum's remarks were made during his meeting with Kuwait's Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan on Wednesday.
Minister Bazoum, who's also President of the Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism, spoke of the worsening security conditions in his country and the terrorist attacks by Boko Haram group, as well as drug smuggling.
On his part, ambassador Al-Mashaan told KUNA that the meeting discussed a security agreement proposed by Niger to boost cooperation in fighting terrorism and transnational crimes between the two sides.
Al-Mashaan's visit is aimed at putting in place a memorandum of understanding on political dialogue signed between Kuwait and Niger in 2017. (end)
