Oman opens first polymer production plant


(MENAFN) Oman witnessed its first ever polymer production factory, which was inaugurated in collaboration between Oman Development and China's ZL EOR Chemicals.

Developed at a worth of around USD20 million, the production factory is spread around an area of 33,000 square meters located in Salalah's Raysut industrial area.

Throughout phase one, the plant is expected to present an output capacity of around 15,000 tons per year and then slowly to hit 70,000 tons per year.

Representative of Oman Development petroleum firm Faisal Bin Turki Al Said stated: "we will cooperate with our strategic partner in China to activate the contribution of the factory on several levels, the most important of which is the transfer of modern technologies in this field."
