Downgrade in Taiwan economic growth projection

(MENAFN) Taiwan was hit with a downgrade in the projection of its economic growth for this year by the Taiwan Research Institute.

Economic growth in Taiwan is expected to reach 2.08 percent, compared to the previous forecast of 2.34 percent that was announced in December, the local think tank affirmed.

Slow economic growth pace is likely to be experienced in Taiwan in the middle of intensified uncertainties within the international economy, the think tank unveiled.

Private consumption in Taiwan was forecast by the institute to register a 1.98 percent boost, and private investment was projected for a 4.19 percent jump.
