(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Oman has won silver at the 28th FIAP Colour Biennial Spain 2019. It was represented by the Photographic Society of Oman (PSO).


Black and White Biennials are held every even year by FIAP in one of the member countries while Colour Biennials are held every odd year.


Spain came first with 169 points and won the cup. Russia won the gold medal with 168 points, Oman won silver with 164 points while Italy received bronze with 162 points.


Speaking toMuscat Daily
, an official at PSO said, 'Oman submitted ten entries titledArwaah Mutawahija
(Glowing Spirits). All images comprised faces of the elderly.'

Ten photographers from Oman who participated were Majid al Amri, Hamad al Ghanboussi, Mohammed al Hajri, Said al Shukaili, Ahmed al Qayudhi, Ahmad al Batashi, Hassan al Amiri, Hatem al Rashdi, Mohammed al Balushi and Mohammed Khalid.


Oman also participated in the digital photo contest. It submitted entries under the titleAfraha Mulawana
.

The images included those of children wearing traditional costumes on occasions such as the national holidays and celebrations that reflect Oman's customs and traditions.


The sultanate was ranked 11th among the participating countries. 'The award ceremony will take place in November on the sidelines of the 33rd Annual meeting of the Spanish Photographic Union,' said the official.
