Morocco's coast guards save lives of 169 irregular migrants


(MENAFN) On Monday, the Moroccan army stated that Morocco's coast guards saved lives of 169 undocumented migrants from Sub-Saharan African nations in the Mediterranean.

The migrants were on board several makeshift inflatable boats which ran into trouble in the Mediterranean Sea, the army stated.

All the irregular migrants sent in a safe way to the northern cities of Nador and Ksar-Sghir.

According to the Moroccan Ministry of Interior, in 2018 Moroccan authorities prevented 88,761 migrants from leaving the nation.
