Empower Series, Inc. in Partnership with Comerica Bank and the Houston Area Urban League Launches in Houston on Saturday


(MENAFN- PRLog) The EMPOWER Series (http://www.empowerseries.com/), a free financial education and self-development coaching and counseling program, in partnership with Comerica Bank (https://www.comerica.com/) and the Houston Area Urban League (http://www.haul.org/), is expanding to the Greater Houston area beginning this Saturday, April 13. The seminars will be held on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Houston Area Urban League – Palm Center location.

Local and national experts will address a financial education or empowerment topic and share their personal testimony of how they overcame adversity to achieve their goals. Workshop topics include but are not limited to visioning & goal-setting, budgeting & savings, preparing & paying for college, entrepreneurship, understanding credit reports & scores, preparing for home purchase, life insurance, estate planning, and growth mindset development.

The Empower Series strives to positively impact the world by transforming mindsets and inspiring behavioral changes.

Marina Perez, (https://bit.ly/2U7UYlb), Chief Executive of Education and Development at The BridgePath ( http://www.thebridgepath.org/ ), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides financial education to families and individuals. Perez is a certified credit counselor and recognized credit authority. She also is a Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) certified advisor and has received her Neighborworks certification related to prevention and foreclosure mediation.

WHAT:
Debunking Credit Reports and Scores. Perez will help attendees understand personal credit, credit reports and scores; learn how to establish positive credit history and correct errors on credit reports, obtain a FREE copy of their credit report from each of the nationwide credit reporting companies and the facts about credit repair scams.
