Amman, March 28 (Petra) - The Israeli war planes on Thursday attacked targets northeast of Aleppo north of Syria, the Syrian state-run news agency (SANA) reported.

"Syrian air defense forces repelled an Israeli air aggression, that targeted a number of industrial sites in Sheikh Najjar industrial zone, north-east of Aleppo, and downed a number of the hostile missiles," SANA said, citing an unnamed military source.

There have been no reports of casualties or the extent of the damage.

Syrian media sources also confirmed that the attack also targeted the civilian airport of the city.

Israel's air attack comes two days after US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Arab Golan Heights.
