(MENAFN) Sudanese police proclaimed that eight children were murdered on Saturday because of the blast of "a strange object" in Sudan's Omdurman city, Sudan's Ashorooq TV channel reported.
"The strange object exploded while the children were playing with it," Hashim Abdel-Rahim, Sudanese police spokesman, was quoted as stating.
He emphasized that four children passed away directly while the other four passed away after they rushed to the hospital.
He added that the police launched a probe to investigate the incident and the nature of the blasted object.
