In a bid to attract more customers under its growing streaming platform, Hotstar has announced a new, affordable annual subscription plan.
Dubbed as Hotstar VIP, the new service offers content under Hotstar Specials label, Star network serials, and live sporting action for Rs. 365 a year.
But is it better than Hotstar Premium or Amazon Prime or Netflix?

So, what do you get with Hotstar VIP subscription?

Hotstar VIP subscription provides access to Hotstar Specials, Star network serials before the scheduled television timing, and live sports telecasts such as IPL, ICC World Cup, Formula 1, and Premier League among others.
However, under this subscription, you won't be able to watch American and International shows and movies such as Game of Thrones and F.R.I.E.N.D.S among others.

According to the company, existing subscribers of All Annual Sports plan will be automatically upgraded to Hotstar VIP without any additional charges. Further, Hotstar has also launched a 'Pay By Cash' option which is exclusively available for users who want to subscribe to Hotstar VIP.

Hotstar Premium offers all the benefits of Hotstar VIP along with the latest American TV shows and movies in 9 languages.
Moreover, like Hotstar VIP, you can stream content on any supported device, including a mobile, computer, and TV.
As for charges, Hotstar Premium costs Rs. 999 per year or Rs. 199 per month (first week free).
