Qatar- Local production programme sells 2000 tonnes of veg

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The programme to market locally produced vegetables, supervised by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, achieved good sales at various major shopping complexes during February.
303 tonnes from the premium products programme and 1,731 tonnes through Qatar Farms programme are sold. Both programmes aim at improving the marketing of local farm products in partnership with some of the leading shopping complexes in the country to increase demand on them and reduce the loss of any amounts due to the lack of proper marketing. This would eventually increase the income of local farmers and encourage investors to go for the agriculture businesses. Besides, these programmes would help in making locally vegetables available at shopping malls all year round.
