Doha: Harmony with inner self in an individual is the key element to enhancing mental health. This theme was emphasized in the two-day Transnational Analysis (TA) 101 workshop conducted at Wyndham Hotel on February 22 and 23, 2019 by Lifelab International in association with BNI Qatar.

Participants endorsed that the content and process of the workshop were high-value addition for their personal and professional profile.

'Concepts connecting with practical realities in work situation and therapeutic setting gave me a deep insight to look at life profoundly, said Fadiya, a creative designer. Narmeen, a senior professional in Learning & Development, praised the basic philosophy of TA and said the workshop helped her immensely by learning how to create a positive environment and be productive in her organisation.

TA 101 is the official introductory workshop with a standardised syllabus accredited by ITAA (International Transactional Analysis Association), USA and it is pre-requisite for further learning and practicing the discipline. TA was initially developed as an approach to psychotherapy and over the past 50 years of its growth, it has found wider application in all fields concerning human growth and change, namely counselling, education, organisations and coaching. Its simplicity makes it accessible to people from all walks of life. Its universal value that ‘people are ok', it emphasis on people's power to choose and the immense hope it places on the possibility of change, makes it relevant to all cultures.

TA workshops can be organised individually or collectively by licensed educational institutions, particularly universities and schools, corporate, mental health organisations, legally recognised learning and development centres, NGOs in the country to enhance the quality of people in their respective filed, and this will be their contribution to develop quality human capital in the country.

Chaitali Shetti, the key person in organising the workshop, emphasised its support for developing internal resonance in parenting children in their academic performance and behaviour modification. She added that parents become mindful in role modelling, tolerance and acceptance at home.

Jinesh John, an official from a leading corporate and a promoter of this drive, opined that practices in the workshop prepared participants to get motivated, to accept and to be accepted which are instrumental in creating a positive working environment in an organization.

Haseena Abdulla facilitated the workshop. She is authorised to teach, supervise and practice psychotherapy by ITAA which is the international body of Transactional Analysis. Haseena is Director for Project Interventions in Lifelab International, a human capital development social enterprise in India. She is a PTSTA, Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) and is professionally associated with ITAA, USA, and SAATA (South Asian Association of Transactional Analysis).

A workshop by name 'May I Play based on Transactional Analysis for children converging with Psychodrama was conducted for children aged 10 to 15.

Shaheen Backer, Director of Safari Group, and Kabeer, Managing Director of Lifelab, said consistent follow-ups are in progress to develop a group of professionals through learning platforms to spread the message to larger population, specifically to schools in Qatar.
