French strike kills 15 Mali terrorist

(MENAFN) The French Defense Ministry said nearly 15 alleged terrorists have been killed in an airstrike by the French military in Mali, as the country has coordinated the strike with Malian soldiers on January 10.

The targets were suspected of planning an attack in the Dialloube area of the country.

According to the ministry, the airstrike contributed in reducing the degree of the threat in the inaccessible region of the Niger Delta.

France has around 4500 troops in the Sahel zone taking part in Operation Barkhane, which targets Islamist terrorists and militants in Chad, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
