Nissan India now accepting bookings for the 2019 Kicks SUV

Nissan India is now officially accepting bookings for its recently unveiled Kicks SUV.

The car, set to launch in the country next month, can be booked online and offline for a token amount of Rs. 25,000.

The Nissan Kicks features a sharp, eye-catching SUV design, attractive dual-tone paint job and comes laden with advanced technology including Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Based on the company's B0 platform, the India-specific variant is bigger than the global variants with a wheelbase of 2,673mm and a ground clearance of over 200mm.

Up front, the subcompact SUV sports the signature V-motion grille, large projector headlights with boomerang-shaped DRLs, and extended claddings.

Further, the car gets sharp LED taillamps, curved tailgate, large bumper with diffuser and rides on 17-inch wheels.


Inside the cabin
Interiors


The India variant of Nissan Kicks offers slightly tweaked interiors with a dual-tone black and brown interiors and a roomier cabin than its international counterpart.

The SUV gets a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

You also get a 360-degree camera setup, smartwatch integration, 4 airbags, cruise control, hill start assist, and cornering lights among other features.


Under the hood
Engine and power


In India, Nissan Kicks is available with both petrol and diesel options.

The petrol model gets a 1.5-liter engine which delivers 104bhp and 142Nm of peak torque, while the diesel variant offers a 1.5-liter mill that churns out 108bhp and 240Nm of torque.

The petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the diesel model gets a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The India-specific Kicks is being locally manufactured at Renault and Nissan's jointly owned plant in Chennai.

This all-new model, set to rival Renault Captur, Suzuki S-Cross, and Hyundai Creta, is set to launch in January next year.

The SUV is expected to launch at a starting price of around Rs. 11 lakh.
