New piezoresistive accelerometer for drop shock testing

(MENAFN- PRLog) Meggitt Sensing Systems, a division of Meggitt PLC, has released the Model 728 accelerometer. This lightweight, gas damped sensor is ideal for drop shock testing of mobile consumer electronic devices and shipping shock measurements.

Although it is small and light, the robust Model 728 can withstand shocks three times its range and offers accurate results across a broad frequency range. With its adhesive mounting, this accelerometer can be easily incorporated into most applications and is available in standard or customer-specified cable lengths.

Key features include:
• 2,000 and 10,000 g full scale ranges
• Small, lightweight (0.5 grams)
• Broad bandwidth (0 to 8,000Hz +/-1dB)
• Adhesive mount
• Selectable input voltage

Materials of construction are RoHS compliant and each unit is shipped with its own A2LA calibration certificate. Meggitt controls the complete manufacturing process; from the MEMS sensor made in our in-house Silicon Valley fabrication facility to the final test with our certified calibration systems. Compatible instrumentation includes the model 136, 3 channel benchtop DC amplifier.
