Kenya: landmine blast wounds 3


(MENAFN) Three civilians have been critically wounded after their truck drove over an improvised explosive device (IED) in the coastal Lamu County on Saturday.

Joseph Kanyiri, director of Operation Linda Boni declared that the IED was placed by the militants along the Kiunga-Hiundi road.

Kanyiri confirmed that the truck was carrying merchandise to Kiunga when the incident took place.

He added: "Three civilian crew members riding on the lorry suffered injuries from the explosion. They have since been evacuated and given medical aid."
