08 Nov 2018

The BCCI and the Indian cricket team shared a video of a bizarre 360-degree bowling action, unlike anything that we have ever seen before.

Cricket has, often, surprised us with unorthodox shots like the switch batting, the helicopter shot made famous by MS Dhoni, the 'doosra' by Murali, but we have never seen something like this.

Check out the video right here.

What exactly happened during the delivery?

The match was a domestic encounter, where the bowler, Shiva Singh made an unusual run-up but suddenly turned around 360-degree before bowling the delivery.

The match was between Uttar Pradesh and Bengal for the CK Nayudu Trophy.

To his disenchantment, the umpire declared the delivery a 'dead-ball'.

Singh says this was not the first time he has bowled such a delivery.

"I use different variations in one-dayers and T20s, so I thought of doing the same because the Bengal batsmen were developing a partnership," Shiva said.

He added, "The umpires said dead ball, so I asked, why are you calling it a dead ball?"

He said that he had bowled such a delivery against Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where it went un-reprimanded.
