Iraq: civilian dies in landmine blast


(MENAFN) A local police source declared that over one person has died on a blast which took place along the Baghdad-Kirkuk highway in Iraq's oil-rich Kirkuk province.

Kirkuk Police Chief Ali Kamal confirmed:" The explosion was caused by a roadside bomb planted along the highway."

He added that more than one civilian, has died in the explosion, while three more were wounded.

No accusations have been made against any group for placing the landmines, however, the Iraqi authorities typically indicts the Daesh terrorist group for such attacks.
