Al Khor appoint French coach Casoni

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Khor appointed French coach Bernard Casoni to replace Tunisian Adel Sellimi, who they sacked last week. The team was put temporarily under Under-23 coach Omar Najhi's charge. Casoni signed the deal with Al Khor Sports Club president Hassan Juma al-Mohannadi.
Casoni began his coaching career in 1999 with Olympique Marseille. He was also at the helm of Club Africain and Etoile du Sahel in Tunisia. As a player, Casoni started off with French club Cannes in 1978. He also represented clubs like Marseille and the French national team.
Al Khor will take on Umm Salal in Week 7 of the QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium tomorrow.
They have only two points and are 11th in the standings. Al Khor had drawn goalless with Qatar SC in the previous round under caretaker coach Najhi.
