US, Kurd diplomats address Iraqi gov't formation in talks


(MENAFN) American and Kurd officials were confirmed to have held talks on plans to establish a new federal government in Baghdad.

The discussion have been made during a meeting held on Wednesday between US diplomats and officials of northern Iraq's Kurdish Regional Government (KRG).

US special envoy Brett McGurk appeared at the meeting to discuss efforts in wiping out ISIS terrorists.

The KRG's Security Council head Masrour Barzani confirmed that the meeting addressed the new government creation "and the KRG's role in this regard".
