(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Eshraqa, Khimji Ramdas' social development arm, recently concluded its fifth batch of Train The Trainer Programme from ILM UK for Omani lecturers working at various universities and colleges across Oman.

This initiative was started last year under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education.Conducted under Eshraqa's 'Training Initiative for Nationals' (TIN), the 'Train the Trainer' initiative aims to enhance the skills of Omani lecturers through a structured programme designed for professionals working as knowledge facilitators.

Endorsed by ILM UK, it hosted various institutions, including the International Maritime College Oman, Majan College, Middle East College, Mazoon College and Caledonian College.

A batch of 12 lecturers attended Eshraqa's latest session, following in the footsteps of over 50 educational professionals previously accredited at TIN's 'Train the Trainer' programme. The platform is designed to boost the capabilities of attendees as a means of enhancing the training and curricula delivered across different segments of Oman's education industry.

Nailesh Khimji, director of Khimji Ramdas, said, 'We thank the Ministry of Higher Education for its repeat collaboration on this valuable initiative; the ministry's support was central to the success of the platform in calling professionals in higher education to a training opportunity that continues to add value to Oman's education sector. 'Eshraqa's long-term strategy for achieving its goal features a broad range of initiatives focussed on capacity building, knowledge transfer and supporting the development of learning environment according to international benchmarks.'
The course was delivered by Nadeem Ahmed, general manager of Khimji Training Institute. He said, 'The course was an excellent opportunity for academics to learn on international best practices and other techniques that will enhance their delivery for students in many different fields of study.

'By raising their impact in the classroom, they are boosting the performance of young Omanis and their academic prowess upon graduation. The very nature of teaching is ever evolving worldwide, thus achieving a robust skillset early on is important for professionals if they are to maintain pace and as a factor directly relevant to Oman's increased focus on competitiveness and Omanisation, we are pleased to have been able to facilitate this essential learning platform.'

Eshraqa's Training Initiative for nationals engages the national talent pool to increase the capabilities of those who will soon come to steer Oman's business landscape. Eshraqa fulfills its commitment to empowering local youth and bridging the gap between educational theory and best practice through the Training for Employment programme.

One of the flagship programmes under this scheme is Campus to Corporate - a one day leadership programme for university/colleges students preparing them for the corporate world. TIN programmes provide entrepreneurial support targeting leaders in order to enhance their leadership skills.
