Father thanks UAE residents after 3,000 turn up for daughter's funeral


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) In a heartfelt message to the people of Al Ain, Dana's father Dr Amjad Jarrar, expressed his immense gratitude for their warm support in turning out to attend his daughter's funeral, reported .

Dana, the grade 9 student, succumbed to internal bleeding and died at the site of a recent accident. She was travelling with her parents and two sisters when their car overturned five times. Her parents and two sisters sustained injuries and are being treated in Rashid Hospital.

Dr Jarrar, a professor at the College of Agriculture in UAE university, said: "Since the moment this calamity has befallen my family we have received support from the people of Al Ain. I am overwhelmed at the amount of support pouring in, especially when they turned out to attend my daughter's funeral prayers and burial as I couldn't attend due to the severity of my injuries. It soothed me significantly to know that she was honoured so generously by so many."

After the accident, his son Mohammed was transferred via air ambulance because of the severity of his condition. He had a torn diaphragm, which shifted his intestines towards his heart.

He also had broken his pelvic and thigh bones. His blood loss has been stemmed.

The mother sustained broken bones of the arm, ribs, and face. The rest of the injured family members sustained various broken bones.
